Just because a guy is addicted to video games does not mean he will get addicted to drinking, or anything else. Some people may have one or two addictions, and then there are some who have an addictive personality who get addicted to many things, but really, if he's only addicted to video games (as A LOT of my guy friends are), I wouldn't think he would get addicted to drinking just because of that.

some people have addictive personalities. it doesn't necessarily mean he will get addicted to drinking, but there's probably a better chance. sometimes it depends on what the thing is though. he may really like video games, but he may not like drinking very much so in that case he probably wouldn't get addicted to it.

Elcee answered Monday September 15 2008, 7:04 am:
If the person has an addictive nature to begin with, then yes they could quite possibly get addicted to alcohol. I know that video games stimulate certain areas of the brain to make people want to continue using them. Alcohol numbs feelings if used to excess, making the person drinking unable to control their actions. It does not necessarily follow that if a person gets addicted to video games, they will also get addicted to alcohol. Everybody is different and addictions come in all different guises. So the short answer is generally no, but with the proviso that we are all different and have different levels of control.
