Question Posted Wednesday September 3 2008, 6:57 pm
I have two guinea pigs who drink A LOT of water. On some days I have to fill there bottle up twice a day. The bottle isn't huge, but its not samll either. Is this normal?
Also, they smell like their urine.
How should I give them a bath?

If it's hot where you live, it will make them drink more water than usual, to cool themselves off. Also, if you have two guinea pigs and one water bottle, you're going to fill it up more. It's perfectly normal!
As for giving them a bath, I would just take a warm washcloth and rub them all over real good. If the smell still doesn't go away, use a mild soap on the washcloth. I don't recommend getting it anywhere near their head because you don't want the soap to get in their eyes!
Good luck! [ LiLMAMAx's advice column | Ask LiLMAMAx A Question ]
