I got my first period 11 days ago.
It stopped on day 5 in the evening. Then in the afternoon of day 6, it started again a little lighter but still. Then that evening it stopped again. It kept starting and stopping right up until this morning, and it still hasn't stopped for good.
I know that a period is supposed to last 4 to 10 days, but is it supposed to start and stop like this? It's my first...
lalapeep answered Tuesday September 2 2008, 11:13 am: Completely. I've had it for three years now and that is my basic cycle. It starts out heavy for the first two days and usually stops or goes really light around the fourth or fifth day and then it starts back up again. Mine last usually just about a week(7 days). You have nothing to worry about! Good luck :] [ lalapeep's advice column | Ask lalapeep A Question ]
superstarblue89 answered Tuesday September 2 2008, 8:43 am: well there is your answer...it's your first. I can take up to two years for a period to regulate. You may have irregular periods or skip periods for the next two years, but if the trend continues after two years I would suggest seeing a gynecologist about getting on birth control to regulate it.
