Question Posted Wednesday August 27 2008, 11:47 pm
hey
well I'm going to go see scary kids scaring kids in the city on the 3rd & i have no idea what to wear.
i know its not that big of a deal, but i never been to a show so i have no clue. also since its stand up, i have no idea what shoes to wear.
the problem is i'm 5 feet tall & i'm sure i wont be able to see a thing so me and my friend were thinking about wearing heels, but idk. it sounds a little foolish to wear heels to a show.
do you think that would be stupid?

Maybe just wear a shirt and jeans. As for shoes- heels wouldn't be best because people go crazy at concerts and you'll get pushed and shoved, which can't be comfortable in heels. So try tennis shoes?
Disconnected answered Thursday August 28 2008, 11:17 am: Don't wear heels, it's torture.
I suggest converse or vans, or just some other comfortable shoes you have.
For clothes, I wouldn't suggest a skirt but maybe jeans with SKSK shirt or just a cool shirt in general.
You will get so hot in the crowd.
I've been to so many concerts (not that type of music though, more like moshing and crowdsurfing concerts) :P but it always gets hot.
So a cute tank top, t-shirt with minimal jewelry will by fine.
Also don't forget to drink water or whatever since you may become dehydrated :
Comrade answered Thursday August 28 2008, 1:39 am: No heels. The few inches you gain won't be enough to make it worth the hell it's going to be on your legs. Plus, standing tends to get crowded very quickly. You need to wear something where you won't be tasting the floor if someone bumps you slightly.
Sneakers. Comfortable sneakers. An old, well-worn pair would be perfect.
As for clothes, again, something comfortable. I've never seen scarykidsscaringkids, but I'd assume if it's like most other shows, nobody is going to be paying attention to you, they'll be too busy with the band.
So again, comfort should be your main concern. It can get very hot in pits, so if you're going to be bringing a jacket, be sure you're wearing something under that you wouldn't mind being seen in (If that sort of thing matters to you), in case you have to take it off. 1. Your heel could fall off, lost forever.
2. Someone probably will stand on your foot.
and 3. Standing in heels for that long is gona be painful.
Wear shoes that are enclosed and are comfortable to be in for a long period of time, especially since you'll be standing.
Also, wear something thats comfortable and won't be annoying to be in all day. It's pretty normal to rock up in some jeans and the bands shirt. You can usually pick up a shirt with the bands name or picture on it from big market places like in australia we have Parklea markets which is a whole bunch of stores but they're all packed into the one area, or from a music store, unless you already have one.
If you cant find a band shirt, then just a normal shirt will do.
It's not an event you have to overly dress up for, its pretty casual so dont worry.
And the height thing, try and squeeze your way through people to see, or make tall friends so you can sit on their shoulders lol.

Well Shows can usually be about 2-3 hours so if you think you can HONESTLY manage heels, good luck.
I went to a Josh Groban concert last year and I'm 5'3 so I feel your pain. But honestly. Heels don't help that much and I was 12th row from the stage wearing a pair. I was seated and had to sit on 3 coats to see the stage.
Shoes I would say it honestly doesn't matter. Wear what is comfortable or if you want which is a good idea, wear heels there and bring a pair of other comfortable shoes, and if you find that it really isn't worth the pain, switch while the band takes a break which is like an hour or an hour and a half into the concert. [[ If you do this, bring a bigger purse to carry them in]]
As far ass apparel goes, I would wear a band t-shirt and jeans. Maybe put the band colors in your hair if you want but don't go over board because it isn't like you're going to come out looking like you want in after all of that sweaty screaming lol. I would suggest spicing up the make up, if you wear any, to a wild style but don't over do it and make it look like you painted your face lol.
But honestly it doesn't matter. And I was 12th row from the stage and the heels didn't save me much. My feet killed when I got home.
I hope this helps but it doesn't matter what you wear. Even just wearing a band shirt and jeans would be fine.
