What is Madonna's real, full name?
I figure she wasn't born as "Madonna" and ended up changing it to that because it's catchy or something. So, what is Madonna's birth name and current name anyway?
I know she has an album that is entitled "Madonna" so I'm curious if she had her middle and last name dropped officially and is seriously just named Madonna. Do you know? If not, what do you think?

Who we know today as Madonna was actually born as Madonna Louise Ciccone. She was born on born August 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan.
Her legal name is Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie; however, she simply goes by Madonna just as each of us tend to go by our first name. She is married to Guy Ritchie, which is why she has tacked the name "Ritchie" to the end of her legal name.
It now seems that she wants to be called Esther, for newly found religious reasons; although, she has not legally changed her name to such.
So, in short, her name is Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie. She is typically referred to as Madonna, but would like to be referred to as Esther now.
