i want to visit my boyfriend who lives in quincy, i live in springfield. it says its about a 2 hour drive, how much gas do you think it would take to get up there? i drive a Jimmy, its an SUV. my parents are outta town thats why i wanted to go up there, and they only left me 40 dollars while they were gone. how much gas do you think it will take to drive 2 hours on the highway?
I would have no idea seeing I am not sure of the type of car you are driving/taking. However, I would be prepared with a good 80 dollars just incase. Better to have more than too be short handed. ;)
DangerNerd answered Monday August 18 2008, 3:04 pm: Hi there,
Assuming your GMC Jimmy is the v-8 version:
2 hours at 55 miles per hour = 110 miles each way.
110 miles divided by 10 miles per gallon = 11 gallons
11 gallons times $4.00 per gallon = $44.00 (each way)
So you are looking at about $88.00 give or take depending on which engine is in your GMC Jimmy and what kind of mileage it gets, and what the price of fuel is in both cities.
Something else to think about: Cars break down when you least expect them to.
If you are going somewhere when your parents are out of town, then you won't have them to call and come get you.
If you are asking yourself what could possibly go wrong: Rent a movie called: "Adventures in Babysitting!" :-)
