Who is the shortest female indoor volleyball player in the Olympics? Who's also an Outside Hitter?
And what was their height?
Also do you think I have no hope, because I'm 5'5" (the rest of my family is like between 5'9 and 6'0", but then again I'm only 14 so I guess I can still grow a few more inches.), and I'm pretty good and really can see possibilities with my future with volleyball, but the height thing keeps bothering me. I play the front outside hitter, because I can jump really high for my height (dont know how that happened but yay lol) and can block people nearly 6 feet tall (like my sister whos 5'10) and I'm good at it (people tell me this. im really not conceited) for a girl who's only played real volleyball (not gay school version) in club for 3 seasons. People usually are suprised that I'm 14, cause of how i play.. so yeah. But i guess the real test will be if I make Varsity on Monday @ high school tryouts (we didnt have middle school volleyball unfortunately), wish me luck!!! :)

Hi there,
Volleyball is neat to watch when it is taken seriously, and a lot of fun to play when it isn't taken very seriously, at least for me. :-)
Ok, so here is what I was able to find for you:
The US indoor team:
# - Name (Pos, Ht, Hometown, Colloege)
1 - Ogonna Nnamani (OH, 6'1", Bloomington, Ill., Stanford)
2 - Danielle Scott-Arruda (MB, 6'2", Baton Rouge, La., Long Beach State)
3 - Tayyiba Haneef-Park (OPP, 6'7", Laguna Hills, Calif., Long Beach State)
4 - Lindsey Berg (S, 5'8", Honolulu, Hawaii, Minnesota)
5 - Stacy Sykora (L, 5'10", Burleson, Texas, Texas A&M)
6 - Nicole Davis (L, 5'4", Stockton, Calif., Southern California)
7 - Heather Bown (MB, 6'3", Yorba Linda, Calif., Hawaii)
9 - Jennifer Joines (MB, 6'4", Milpitas, Calif., Pacific)
10 - Kimberly Glass (OH, 6'2", Lancaster, Pa., Arizona)
11 - Robyn Ah Mow-Santos (S, 5'7", Honolulu, Hawaii, Hawaii)
12 - Kim Willoughby (OH, 5'10", Napoleonville, La., Hawaii)
15 - Logan Tom (OH, 6'1", Salt Lake City, Utah, Stanford)
From what I gather here, that would be 5'10" for an outside hitter on the U.S. Olympic indoor volleyball team.

Another thing about playing volleyball: Don't give up because the current shortest outside hitter on the Women's U.S. Olympic team is 5'10".
She probably isn't the shortest they have ever had, nor is she likely to be the best outside hitter in the history of Olympic volleyball.
