backhandspring help! all who can do one your help will be very appreciated

okay so i can do a back bend kick over on flat ground. and i need a backhandspring to try out for the winter cheerleading team, i figure if i work on it now i can make it really good by the time tryouts are. i cant do a backhandspring nor have i really tried. im going to be doing a class as soon as i can sign up. is there anything i can do to help with my total goal? i really want to achieve this because its all i really have to lok forward to. im willing to do anything.

Maybe give some free advice about: Sports? brriannnnax3 answered Sunday August 17 2008, 7:52 pm: okayy.well i think i can help.. i did gymnastics for 10 yearss before i got hurt and had to stopp well.. my best advice is make sure you have enough upper body stregnth if you dont have good upper body stregnth than you wont be able to keep yourself up .. so you wanna practice is at first have someone spot you . by spotting you they should have one hand on the middle of youre back and one had on the back of ur knees. and youre gonna squat than jump backk .your head is AFTER youre arms come down . once your feel comfortable doing it thann. have the person spotting just put their hand on the middle of youre backk just for the support and once you can do that you might be alittle scared and htink you cant do it .. at that point you CAN youre friend is barely touching you..if theres any other quesgtions with this you need help with you can askk.. but i think i covered the basics..goodluck! and hope you make the teamm =) [ brriannnnax3's advice column | Ask brriannnnax3 A Question ]
