Just be honest with him. Two of the most important factors in a relationship are trust and communication. Just tell him you're not yet comfortable being "lovey dovey" with him, and it's not his fault, you just don't quite feel ready yet. And maybe give him ideas of what you ARE and AREN'T comfortable with?

I hope this helps =]

Tell him. Tell him your aren't comfortable doing that yet. You can either tell him before any of that happens or during it. Like if he tries to kiss you just tell him then or tell him before you guys go somewhere or hang out. Thats an easy way to let a guy know you aren't ready. The guy will understand if he does care about you. He will wait till you are ready. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you!

I was in a similar situation as you. My ex-boyfriend would get super-affectionate with me when I totally wasn't comfortable with it just then. What worked was talking to him about it.
I suggest the next time you go on a date together, beforehand tell him that you aren't ready just yet to jump into "lovey dovey" mode. Do it nicely, and be sure not to act annoyed. Just bring it up casually and keep the conversation light. The idea is to just express concerns, not make him feel cornered and scared. ;]
