Let's say that you started your period today (August 9th). Technically, you should get your next period sometime around September 9th. That's what your mom is talking about. If you're just a little off, that's perfectly fine and normal.

A woman’s menstrual cycle may be long, short, predictable or unpredictable. It may change from month to month and over the years, or it may stay pretty much the same. What is normal for one woman is not necessarily normal for another. But there are key changes in every woman’s cycle that can help you get to know what is normal for you.

A cycle begins on the first day of bleeding and continues up to, but not including, the first day of the next period. Women’s cycles range from 21 to 40 days or more, with an average of around 28 days. The length of a woman’s cycle may change a little or a lot from month to month.

Theoretically, if every woman had a regular period, it would be exactly every 28 days. But since that isn't how the world works, every woman's period is her own. Yes, there are certain things that happen with every woman's period, but the actual amount of days between is different.

21 days is normal- you're perfectly fine.

I think the only reason you should worry is if you stop getting your period all together xD.

Your mom is right. It is on average every 28 days. My cycle comes every 22 days so it is perfectly normal. Some people menestrate at different times. It isn't anything serious you should be worried about. Hope this helps!

The average cycle is 28 days, but it is perfectly normal to have a cycle that is as few as 21 days or as long as 35 days.

You didn't say how old you were, so I'm assuming you are in your teens? If so, it can also be normal that your cycle is 45 days.

Every woman is different.. so you don't really have anything to worry about!
