SWIMMING/Swimmers HELP!

Question Posted Sunday August 3 2008, 1:30 am

I'm 17. I have taken swimming lessons, and used to go to the gym regularly. I stopped and havent gone in about 2-3 months. I would like to start swimming, to lose weight. I would like to become a fast swimmer.
Are there any techniques, workouts, exercises that may help me? Are there any websites that can also help?

when i start swimming, how long should i swim and how many laps/set if there are sets.

Thank you i appreciate it!

well if your planning to swim everyday, set goals on it. Like for instance, say your going to do 7 laps to start, so for 2 days do seven laps, then raise it to 10 laps for a few days the 14 etc. Thats what I do, and I feel so in shape with out pulling any muscles. You have to take it day by day, and not over do it. Otherwise, you can pull a muscle. I'm at 30 laps and I'm still setting goals for my self.

The secret is to do what oyu can and still challenge yourself. You have to exercise on a daily basis too.

Best of luck!! :)
