Simple things like cutting out unhealthy snacks and replacing them with low calorie, low fat options such as fruit will make a difference. The key is to eat small, healthy meals and often.
Example:
Breakfast: Bowl of museli with semi-skimmed milk and fruit
Mid-morning snack: Fruit/handful of cashew nuts
Lunch: Homemade sandwich (shop bought sandwiches often have a high fat and salt content, even the 'healthy' ones) on wholegrain bread with low fat margarine and your favourite filling - smoked salmon and low fat cream cheese or chicken and salad are good examples of healthy options.
Afternoon snack: Three crackers with low fat cottage cheese
Evening meal: Grilled fish with cous-cous and steamed vegetables
Obviously you don't have to stick exactly to that, and you'll want to vary it from day to day but try to choose meals along those lines.
As for excercise, you don't have to spending four hours at the gym everyday. Check the following website out for simple excercises that you can do at home: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Find a friend and go running with them every morning or evening depending on what suits you both.
Another tip is to walk wherever possible instead of driving or getting the bus. If there is somewhere that you can't realistically walk to, then get off the bus one stop early or park/get dropped off before you reach your destination and go the rest of the way by foot.
Remember, it's all about eating healthily and doing regular excercise. Don't be tempted to skip meals in the hope that you will lose weight faster because it's not healthy and it won't stay off. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
