Because we don't live around many pure races it is most likely difficult to know for sure of a persons race. Indians and Mexicans are quite different until they are mixed with another race. Depending on the race they are mixed with determines which distinguishing qualities will surface. Even then two of the same mix may even look different. Many times the original dominant racial features will be gone. Nicole Ritchie has a black father and white mother, but depending on how she colors her hair you wouldn't know.

The most obvious difference between Chinese and Koreans is that generally, Koreans have larger eyes. Chinese basically all have small eyes. Or maybe that's just me...
Japanese people have paler skin and narrower faces.
Viet people are kind of hard to explain =[ Sorry
Mostly, you learn how to tell them apart just from seeing them a lot
