of mice and men movie

Question Posted Thursday July 31 2008, 7:52 pm

i want to know which is a better movie:
of mice and men, the 1992 movie
or
of mice and men, the 1939 movie

surprisingly, both movies got 100% on rottentomatoes.com, which is really quite rare!

PLEASE BE HONEST and even if you haven't seen both (which is most-likely), even if you've seen one of them, tell me how much you liked it on a scale of 1-10 !! i absolutely ADORED the book

I've also only seen the 1992 version, and I actually liked it. Lenny was really brought to life, and it was good because I couldn't really picture him for some reason. I would rate it an 8 or 9. Movies rarely ever get 10s with me xD.

The book was actually not that bad, but it got really irritating at times. The book I would rate a 5 or 6.

I've only seen the 1992 movie, but I thought it was actually pretty good. We watched it in school, and the ones we watch are rarely decent movies, but this one wasn't too bad =]

I've read the book and seen both movies.
I'd have to give both a 10.

I like black and white movies. I can
understand though how the younger crowd
might like the newer one with the
actors in it they are familiar with.

But if you get a chance to see the older
movie, its just as good!

Hey there, I have read the novel as well but I've only seen one of these two films. I've seen the 1992 one. Do you mean rate it based on how much it matches the novel? or just in general? Matching scenes from the novel I would give it a 9, there was a few parts it left out, but that is just how it always goes. And rating it in general I would give it a ten. It was a very well done movie :)
