"the red pony" movie

there's a book by john steinbeck, "the red pony." i looked on rottentomatoes.com, and there is no available rating. if you've seen "the red pony", how well did you like it? on a scale of 1-10? would you recommend it?

i have never seen the movie but i read the book.
on a scale of 1-10 that book was an 8. if you really like life lessons, then that would probably be a good book and movie for you. John Stienbeck is a good author. hope i helped:)
