well then give up dance to make your mom happy and do your best in honors i know hard heartless that sounds (i had to give up gymnastics to make my mom happy) but that may be the only way to solve this and try to spend the time you would be in dance with your boyfriend instead so you can balance everything you can always join dance the next time if its still what you want to do or you could talk to your mom about letting you go to night school for your honors classes like once a week and doing dance the rest or something try to negotiate if it doesnt work out then do your best to not throw a fit cause she might change her mind if she thinks your mature enough to handle everything

Take a year off of competition. Dance can be life but at the same time, academics is more important.

It's that college degree that will outlast your dance career. And it's your moneymaker in the case (god forbid) something happens and you can't dance anymore.

So take some time off and focus on your academics. That way when you get back to the world of dance, you'll be better without the guilt of school on your head!

cheers,
stargirl
