Is my method of prayer efficient?

Question Posted Wednesday July 23 2008, 6:08 am

I am a Christian and last night it occured to me that God may not hear me, as I pray 'in my head' rather than out loud. Is my theory correct?

Hi!!
well I'm a christian too and i pray like that a lot too specially when i'm out and i just start talking to him...
well, God is your friend and he wants you to talk to him about everything, and sometimes when something occurs to you, you tell him in the moment and of course he listens to you!
God listens to your every prayer. If your in the mall and you just need to tell him something you won't start screaming so he'll hear you. Anyways the thing is he hears you.. don't worry he truly does.

god can always hear you =D
he knows every thought in you head and he doesn't ignore anyone.
even if you might feel like he's not listening because you've been praying and praying and nothing happens.
something will happen, you just never know when it will :)
you can pray out loud and in your head. and you can pray for anything. no matter how strange or silly :)

haha i hope i helped =D

God can hear you, even when you don't actually talk. He can hear your thoughts, among other things.

I pray "in my head" because one, I don't like to wake my family, and two, because it feels more divine and reverent.

Like when you're in church, yes, you pray out loud with other people, but you also pray to yourself.

As long as you're praying reverently, God will hear you =].

What do you believe about God, that you actually think he has to be in hearing distance physically to your vocal chords? What if you whisper? Can he hear it? Does shouting a prayer hurt his ears? I think you need to investigate the idea of God you have and why you have it. God is spirit according to the Bible and everywhere...omnipresent. Prayer is also about listening to God's voice and not just a one way telling God what you want. God is not Jack in the Box. As a self-proclaiming follower of Christ, you should learn more and theorize less.

No. A lot of people pray in their head. He still knows what you're thinking.

There are many Christians that pray in their head. If you feel better about praying out loud, then do so, but most people think He can hear you either way.

If you go along with the theory of an all seeing, all hearing, all knowing God, then your prayers would be heard whether spoken or thought.
