Its "considered" a distraction to teachers and other students in the class. With make-up, anyone can change their apperance. What if a guy came in with eye liner, blush, and lipstick? I think that would be a distraction...to me it would be, haha. Anyways, that's why schools won't allow girls wear it. My school is trying to not allow girls wear low cut shirts...most shirts are low cut which is really stupid.

It's considered to be a distraction to the learning process. I've only seen an example of this once, in my town. In the elementary school dress code, makeup and hair dye are not allowed.

Some schools take the stance that you're there to learn, not to show off your beauty. While that is oppressive at times, it can also mean a lot of distraction is taken away.

If you feel strongly about it, you can always take it up with your district's school board ;]

yeah, some schools say dont wear heavy make up, i think its because they think its not necessary for younger people to wear make up, or maybe they think it may be some distraction. I know some people like to go over bored with it. Also they may think you will put some make up on during class, which some ppl do. but thats the only ideas i can really think of.

Some schools just have a really srict dress code policy, and I guess they feel that make up is inappropriate. It varies from school to school, though.
