mixing weights and cardio

Question Posted Tuesday July 8 2008, 10:51 am

i read somewhere that you shouldnt do cardioand weights, as cardio uses up muscle or something? basically, i want muscle, from losing fact, so im doing weight training. i also do about 20mins of cardio. should i stop doing cardio?

Nope, ideally you should be doing both.
If you're a beginner it's suggested that you do one every other day. Like one day do cardio, the next day do weight training. That way, you get the benefits of both, but you won't over-work yourself and/or lose motivation.

No. The combination of weight training and cardio is what you need. You will still build plenty of muscle.
