my ears are pierced 4 times on each side, the most recent ones have been there for almost exactly a year.
on my left ear, the most recent one is swollen and leaking some kind of thin, sticky, colorless pus... it's not bleeding or anything. and it's only that one, none of the others are doing it.
i'm afraid of it closing up, i really don't want that... i've tried using an antiseptic on it twice a day but nothing really seems to be helping that much. it hurts when i roll over on my left side when i try to sleep.
what is it/what should i do?

They can dry out the piercing and clog it up.
Piercings can sometimes play up even after a lengthy time of having it pierced. I should know, I've had my fair share.
Just soak a cotton wool ball in sea salt and warm water solution and hold it against the piercing for about 15 minutes for 3 times a day.
Do not touch it any other time.
Give it a week and it should be fine.
You shouldn't worry if the pus is colourless. If it turns a different colour, it's a sign of infection. If that happens, or it doesn't get better with the salt soaks, see your doc to get antibiotics. Don't ever take an infected piercing out without being told to by a professional, because it traps the infection inside you.
P.S, try not to sleep on that side :P
This has happened to me a few times (except it was my cartlidge, and it happened about 6 months or so after having it pierced).
Because of how long you have had the piercing, you should be okay taking it out to try and let your ear heal for a few days.
I allowed my ear to get so infected that it swelled up and I had to have a doctor remove my earring. It was aweful, painful, and an experience I never want to go through again.
After a year or so, I went through the same process.
My experience taught me that my ear doesn't like cartlidge piercings.
It's also letting me share with you to remove your piercing to let your ear heal otherwise you could wind up in the same situation as I was in (getting it stuck and needing a doctor to remove it).

Ok listen i have my ears pirced once and i haven't wore earing in almost a year and i still can put earing in so a week or two are not going to close up your ears. i recomend that you use proxicide and achol to rub on your ears this will burn but you will be able to clean anything out that is disturbing your ears.
i also recommend that is this does not get better even after you tried this and keep your earing out! at least in that spot. that you see a docter, you have a very minor infection that he can perscribe medicine for.
best luck, hope you get better,
