I'm 14 and getting braces and I need to get 2 bicuspids pulled. Does getting them pulled hurt? I had 6 baby teeth pulled when I was 8 or 9, and they gave me laughing gas and some other stuff and I didn't feel anything. But is it different for adult teeth? How long will they hurt after I get them pulled?

uisforukelele answered Friday June 13 2008, 1:54 pm: It should be very similar to when you had baby teeth pulled. I've had adult teeth pulled too and they did the exact same thing- laughing gas, and then I didn't feel bad or anything afterward. I believe a columnist below me was talking about getting wisdom teeth pulled, which is not the same thing- so don't freak out. Pulling wisdom teeth is more of a surgery type of deal. You don't have anything to worry about- I doubt it will hurt more than a few hours. [ uisforukelele's advice column | Ask uisforukelele A Question ]

If you eat lots of cold stuff afterwards (like nonstop...literally) then you probably won't swell much.

Hope all goes well! [ wisemen's advice column | Ask wisemen A Question ]
