Party ideas

Question Posted Sunday June 8 2008, 9:06 pm

Hey guys. I'll be turning 16 on the 29th and I was planning on having a party with about 17 or 18 people, both boys and girls (5 guys, 12 girls or something like that). I don't live in a neighborhood, my house is pretty secluded, and I don't have a pool. So I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas as to what we could do. We can always watch a movie, but I feel like that might be too boring to do the entire time. Thanks to any suggestions!

Think themes that you like. A few ideas we have done are;
*hawaiian luau
*70's dress
*super heroes-- where everyone dresses as their favorite super hero
*rappers-where everyone dresses as rapper--this one was a lot of fun because a lot of the guys dressed as Flava Flav and the clocks were funny
*halloween in June-- you can even do a haunted house with covered boxes they can stick their hands in like eyeballs that are really peeled grapes, etc
*theme from a favorite TV show or movie- when my daughter turned 15 she wanted Cars. everyone showed up dressed as a character from the movie
You could rope off an area around the house and play hide and seek in the dark. A lot more fun than it sounds but you rope the area off so that no one gets too far away from the area you are playing in
Buy a couple of board games like Battle of the Sexes, Monopoly, Taboo or one of the Scene It games. Have small, inexpensive gag gifts for the winners

You can play games like truth or dare or spin the bottle. You can turn music on and have a dance contest. You can play games with food and just be creative. Hope this helps.

Here are some idea's i have. Some partys i have had, and others just sound fun...

-hawaiian party
-Murder mystery
-movie party (movie partys are fun, but you mentioned you thing it would be to boring.)
-game party ( have games like ... well im not good at games, but one party i designed a game. I had a list of songs, and my party was split into two teams (i only had 5 people at the party though) but you say the name of a song, and the team has to guess who sang it. you also could make a mix CD, and play a song, and for each song, the team gets a point for the name of the song, and a point for the singer.)
-just a hang out party, just chill with your friends, and have music in the background.
-dance party.
-Water balloon (fill some first, and just have fun, i have had this party before and it is fun!)

I hope i helped, and have fun!

if you can, maybe have your dad or someone help you set up a campfire area outside and you all can make smores and/or roast hot dogs and stuff. that takes up a lot of time (:

and if it's warm and if you have a nice, flat place near your house, go get a slip n' slide. people love them!

okay both these ideas may seem a little lame.. but i have attended both kinds of parties and we all had so much fun :)

... a murder mystery party. this can be done at home.. you can go the folllowing website and it plans the whole thing for you and sends it to you via FEDEX.. it is about $8-10 per person, but like i said. it was a lot of fun and totally worth it!
www.host-a-murder.com

... also if you dont want to have it at your house. i went to a laser tag party. it may seem kinda immature for a sixteenth birthday party, but i promise if you are there with friends it doesnt matter how old you are.. it is so much fun!

hope this helps.. if you don't like either of these ideas, try googling teen party ideas.

:)
