He's leaving...

Question Posted Sunday June 1 2008, 10:46 am

So I have been dating this guy for 10 months now, and he will be leaving in Sept for school overseas, the thing is... I know I'm going to be So hurt and in tears almost everday for about a month... I don't want to be like that!! I want to be able to end the relationship with a smile, don't go on any rebounds and just be happy that I was with someone SO great and NOT cry and break-down, you know?! I want this because we BOTH know when he has to leav, and so it shouldn't be so tough, right?! So any advice would REALLY help!! :P Please... Thanks!!

Its going to be hard no matter what you do. No one can turn their feelings off , no matter how hard we try. Oviously you and him care about each other to be with each other for 10 months. It will definatly be hard for a while because your use to being around him spending time with each other & also being able to speak to each other whenever you and him Wanted. The best thing to do is when he leave , keep yourself busy .

If I were you I would have the best possible summer I could with him, not make any moves yet. But in the end have a talk with him, a serious talk about why you dont think it could continue. He should understand your needs and see how it is ideal for the both of you. And Just give him a kiss on the cheek and tell him it was fun while it lasted. He will understand but for now just have fun and enjoy him while he is there. Hope I helped xox Diane
