Sometimes I'll start one and it will give me a great idea and I'll put that one to the side and create an even better song. Don't worry about censoring your thoughts because once you let what you really feel come out it's much more beautiful. It's good to stick to a formula kind of. Like, if your first verse is four lines long, then they all should be. There are exceptions, but I would stick to this if you are just starting out. Try to come up with a chorus that is worth repeating and catchy and sticks out a little more from the verses. Sometimes you might write a verse and later decide you would rather have it for the chorus so it's okay to change it! Just don't be afraid to write anything that you might later change or reorder because you'll be less likely to run into a block. [ iSpEaKsPaNiSh's advice column | Ask iSpEaKsPaNiSh A Question ]
