Questions concerning my period

Question Posted Sunday May 18 2008, 8:55 am

Is it normal that you get this brown stuff which happens to be your period and not have it for months and months then have then have your period again in a week? I just got my period, and I'm wondering if i should be worried. Only a small amount comes out and it isn't red. In fact, it seems more like grown goo than blood. The period comes along with some aches around your body and a stomachache. 13/f

Everyone get their period differently, and yes, I have had a bit of brown before. But, I have never had it replace my entire period. It's always been something that comes right before my period begins, or during the end.

So although I mentioned that every girl gets a different kind of period, it doesn't mean that what you're having is normal, and shouldn't be looked or talked about by a physician.

It's very possible that there is nothing medically wrong at all. You're 13, and your menstruation system is still just developing.

If what's going on continues, it's definitely better to be safe and go to the doctor.

Good luck!
