brush it off. dont let it bother you. in situations like this, you need to act like a politician. let it stay on the outside, and dont let it get under your skin.
if anybody comments, just be like "you know thats not true"
or if it is somthing true, look them straight in the eye and say "so what?"
it will all blow over. everyone will forget about it. the less of a deal you make out of it the sooner people will forget abotu it.

First off, don't let him know it upsets you. That is what he WANTS, and if you show weakness, he'll keep doing it, and hurting you even more.
Next, just brush it off, and when somebody brings it up, say something like, "Ha, he wishes!" or "Actually, he's just trying to make it sound like he got a lot more than he did. I would never do things like that!" and change the subject. Let everyone see these rumors and garbage talk don't bother you.
Rumors are always going to be around, and people are going to hurt you in life. But life is way too short to focus on all the bad things. You need to focus on the good, and life your life. Just ignore it, and move on. It's not like this is going to go on forever. He'll stop eventually.
