Myspace Phishing

Question Posted Friday March 21 2008, 6:23 pm

Someone or something hacked into my myspace account. On my homepage, there is a thing from Tom saying that I've been phished and I have to change my password. Whenever I try to click the link to change my password the browser sends me back to the log-in screen. I tried to do it manually, and it did change my password, but I still couldn't do anything on my myspace. What should I do?

That is probably the phish. Someone pretending to be tom sent you a link which led you to a site that looked like the myspace login screen. And you gave them your password.

Type myspace.com in the URL bar. Log in. If the login fails:
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Then immediately change your password for your account. If you use the same password for your email account, change that too.

It might be a glitch in your myspace and the best thing to do might be to close it down because who knows there could be a hacker getting into all your personal stuff.

try reseting your password from the login screen by clicking forgot password... i think they will send you a new one to your email. the link you are clicking is actually on your homepage right? not in a message or bulletin?
