My name is Anna. Because of personal reasons I can not afford healthy food which means that I dont get to eat my Vitamins and also certain types of fruits and vegetables. If i continue on eating like this, will this allow me to get Scurvy or any other types of diseases?

Many people do not get enough of the right kinds of vitamins so they do get very ill. You may already notice yourself having more illnesses than others--more colds, flus, etc.
You can easily purchase a multivitamin at your local store. Wal-mart, GNC, or any pharmacy will have them. There are some that are better than others and some that are made specifically for certain age groups.
A good multivitamin will ensure your body is getting enough to keep functioning properly. They can be much less costly than purchasing separate foods for your needs and most are only taken once a day.
CNN has a report about how to find a good multivitamin, which may be very beneficial to you at this moment:
Of course it is still helpful to eat properly but I understand if you are in a financial situation where food is not affordable. You may want to look at your local welfare department for something called food stamps, which would help you purchase healthy foods that you currently cannot afford. Try not to use your money on unhealthy foods if you can.
I do suggest that once your financial situation is taken care of you try your very best to purchase the right kinds of foods your body needs. Taking vitamins does not mean you do not need to eat healthy foods because multivitamins still do not supply everything we need from foods.
I hope all is well and you're able to find a good multivitamin to help you get some of the vitamins you are missing. If I can help in any other way, please send me a question! :) [ Peeps's advice column | Ask Peeps A Question ]

Having said that, most people don't get scurvy. Don't panic about it. There is a lot of nutrients in milk (or soy milk if lactose intolerant) and many foods like pop tarts add vitamins so you're unlikely to get a disease or suffer malnourishment. So don't panic about it. You should spend money on vitamins though. Get rid of snack food and buy the vitamins instead. [ TheFool's advice column | Ask TheFool A Question ]
