The only reason they say that is because of the fish and little sea creatures they use. If the fish are in toxic waters, the toxins stay in their bodies and you end up eating them.

So, it really depends on where the restaurant is getting the fish from. Generally, smaller restaurants don't have as much money, so they will buy cheaper fish, which isn't always the most "healthy" fish. I think you can ask the restaurant where they get their fish from. make sure that the sushi is fresh too, and hasn't been sitting around for days which is enough time for it to spoil and develop bacteria.

Stay away from small sushi restaurants. They don't always properly store or refrigerate their food, or even keep it clean enough, and that's how people get sick. Stick to the more popular sushi places. This doesn't mean they have to be the most expensive joints, just the ones where a lot of people go.

Cut down just to be safe though. My bf and I used to eat sushi once a week at and we never got sick, but we always ate at the same place, which is a small, but very busy and popular joint.

You know what...If you listen to these types of articles that just sum everything up, you will never eat anything. To these kinds of people, everything will give you cancer. The way our enviornment is, if you go out in the air too long and breathe you could get cancer, and if you stay in and breathe too long, you could get carbon monoxide poisioning. You feel me? This is what you do. When you eat... pray or thank your body or whoever you want to thank before you put it in your mouth. Ask God or the Universe or Your body to let you know within one bite whether you should keep eating it or not. If your body gives you the sign that it is ok to keep eating it. Cary on, if not, order something else. This is what I do. I have eatin things that are old and have been left out, I prayed first and my body said it was fine and I didn't get food poisioning. I have friends that go out to eat and order FRESH and come home with food poisioning. You feel me? :) It is all about you and your body. Connecting with your self. There was some poisioning in the spinish here in Michigan, and for a while I wasn't going to eat spinish anymore, and then I was like you know what hahaha this is stupid. I'll end up starving my self trying not to die or get cancer. Well what's the better of the evils? Pray, eat, drink, and be merry!
Peace

i would suggest eating it just in moderations.

also if you want it to be more healthy and less concerned, just make the sushi yourself.
