This happened one time to me before and what you can do is:

Go to "Settings"

Then go scroll down, and see if "Suffle" us off because that could be a problem.

But if that STILL don't work try restarting.

IF IT STILL DONT WORK,, then go to the store you bought it from and tell them and if they can't fix it you should be able to get a new one!

Hope I helped
~Best of Luck~

when it's playing..tap the top of the screen (on vertical mode) and the time bar will appear..you'll see like three symbols there. the repeat one might be highlighted...tap it to turn it off.

1. Make sure you have more than one song in the playlist.

2. If your clicking "shuffle" by tapping on the song cover and clicking, make sure your pressing the arrows that overlap eachother, and not the aarows that are shaped sort of in a circle (because thats the repeat button, if thats clicked, unclick it).

If none of those do it, try resetting your ipod or check for updates.

Good Luck.
