I'm always hungry.

Question Posted Tuesday March 4 2008, 5:41 pm

I am always hungry. Not just that I want to eat, but literal stomach hunger. I can eat a full supper, and still be hungry for more. I know its not healthy... how can I not be hungry, so I can eat less?

Sima has some great advice. But there is an easier healthy solution. Check out my website for something I discovered 5 weeks ago: www.fresnojuice.com. Please feel free to call/email me with any questions.

Good Luck!!

Samer

You should also try to eat more foods with fiber in them. Fiber keeps you full and energized. Also eat bananas and/or kiwis, they're known for their high amount in potassium [which gives you energy as well].

Here is a list of high fiber fruits, vegetables, and grains:

Grain Products:

* whole grain breads, buns, bagels, muffins
* Bran Flakes, All Bran, bran Buds, Corn bran, whole wheat Shreddies, 100% Bran and Fiber 1
* Cooked cereal such as Red River and Oat Bran
* whole-wheat pastas
* whole grains such as barley, popcorn, corn and brown rice

Fruits:

* dried fruits such as apricots, dates, prunes and raisins
* berries such as blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries
* oranges, apple with skin, avocado, kiwi, mango and pear

Vegetables:

* broccoli, spinach, swiss chard, green peas and other dark green leafy vegetables
* dried peas and beans such as kidney beans, lima beans, black-eyed beans, chick peas and lentils

Nuts and Seeds:

* nuts and seeds such as almonds, whole flaxseed and soynuts

Try drinking a glass of water before you eat, and another glass during your meal. A lot of the time, when you feel hungry that's actually your stomach telling you that you're thirsty. So, theoretically, if you drink water all day, you won't be as hungry. I tried that once, and I actually forgot to eat lunch and dinner (and I'm like you with the hunger). The only downside is that you will have to pee a lot.

Drink lots of water. The human body sometimes confuses thirst with hunger :] goodluck!

eat smaller portions of food. If you eat every two hours, that are smaller portions, it should curb your hunger. Try eating more fulling foods like vegetables. They are healthy and should fill you up faster.
