Question Posted Saturday March 1 2008, 7:23 pm

so right now i wear glasses. as in 24/7 :P
but i find that, wearing glasses make my eyes worser. and i hate the way i look in glasses. and i do not want to live the rest of my life with glasses.. :( and i currently go to school but in the summer im gonna try to get used to contacts.
so my question is,

1) are contacts hard to get used to ?
2) do wear both, glasses and contacts?

When i first got contacts it felt like sand was in my eye. it hurt really bad the first time you put them in. but you do get used to them within a couple of minutes. also, you don't want to wear both contacts and glasses at the same time but you do wear both. When your going to sleep and your going to watch t.v you should put your glasses on so that way if you fall asleep you don't risk the contact going behind your eye.--if this happens you need to tell some ASAP because you ned sergery to get it out. i know that sounds scary but it rarely ever happens any way, actually, contacts make your eyes worse because they don't shape your eye like glasses do. so if you do decide to go to contacts just be sure you wear your glasses to so that way you don't get REALLY bad eyesight. I wish someone would have told me this when i turned to contacts...now i have really bad vision.

hope i helped!

I personally prefer contacts over glasses. They're much more comfortable, and you can't really 'lose' your contacts once they're in your eye as opposed to glasses.

The kind that I have are Acuvue Optix [something along the lines of that], and I'm actually able to sleep with mine, but I have to clean them ever so often.

1] Contacts are not hard to get used to, at all. Trust me when I say this, but I get really freaked out when I have something close to my eye [like a mascara brush], but my optometrist actually took out her contacts and showed me how to put them in. Pretty soon, you will develop your own technique of easily putting in your contact.

2] No, you only wear one or the other. It is not necessary to wear both at the same time, and actually, it could possibly lead to worsening your eye sight if both were worn together.

Message me if you need more help, I've been wearing my contacts for approximately 3 years.

you don't wear glasses and contacts at the same time. you wither wear glasses or contacts. they do charge for both the contacts and the check up for the perscription of the contacts most of the time, i think. i guess it depends on teh person on how easy you get used to them. some say it's better, others take a longer time to adjust, but you can always go back to the optinomitrist to get them more comfortable

I got used to contacts within three minutes of putting them in :) They don't hurt, feel bad, or anything. It might be weird at first, but you forget that you have them in! It's awesome. I wear both glasses and contacts (well, not at the same time) because I like the way I look with both. If you wear contacts long enough you might find yourself wearing glasses a few days a month because it looks cute. Or maybe not. If you wanted, you could go get contacts next week and be used to them in time for school the next day.

Ok I am going to tell you something and you might think that it is impossible but it's not. If you stop wearing the glasses or only wear them when you absolutley have to, and you tell your self as often as possible that your eyesight is improving every day, your eyesight will get better. I did this, for one year and by the next year when I went to get my eye exam the doctor swore to me that my eye sight would have gotten worse and i've been straining, and when she did the exam, my one eye was the same and my other eye was %25 improved. She said well I guess I was wrong. So take that info and do what you will with it. Peace.

contacts aren't hard to get used to at all. i got use to them in a couple of hours, but then it kinda depends on how well you adjust. and if you were to get contacts, you'd probably only wear contacts except at night when you take them out before you go to bed, or in the morning when you wake up before you put them on. i got contacts in december, and they are DEFINATELY worth it.
