Okay, so I've been a bit of a tomboy/goofball since the 3rd Grade. I love hanging out with guys (and I have WAY more guy friends than gal friends), I joke around a lot, and I'm a bit clumsy. But this isn't what I really want. I can't get dates, because guys usually thnk I'm joking when I say I like someone. It drives me crazy and I can't go through a day without thinking: "Am I ever going to get a boyfriend like this?"
So I want to turn my life around. The problem is I am NOT suitable for absolute girly girl. I mean, I want to change out of my old pants (meant for guys) and things but I don't want to be a pink loving, make up applying, small dog loving girly girl.
So... how can I start changing my life? I've tried before, and it turned out as a disaster. I don't want to change right away, because I'll be interrogated by hundreds of people if I just show up at school in a skirt on Monday.
How can I approach this without making a complete idiot of myself?

-wear tight jeans
-try to make your hair look nice (like straighten
it)
-you can wear a LITTLE make up. like eyeliner
-wear tight shirts. they don't have to be girly or
pink, just wear like tight shirts. like band
shirts. or "junk food"-label shirts: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
-for shoes, wear either chucks, or dunks. i love
dunks, because theyre colorful, and not girly.
-wear jewelry, and it doesnt have to be preppy,
but just as long as its not emo/goth etc.
-avoid wearing too much black.
-for nails, i always paint mine black or white.
or black and white sometimes haha. cuz black and
white match every outfit
-dont worry too much about matching
most of all, keep in mind that your gonna need to
kinda phasee into this. you cant just completely
change your style. do it slowly. most of the
above it how i dress myself, and i actually am
prettyy girly. just not preppy [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
1love1life answered Monday February 18 2008, 8:13 pm: ive been there and done that. ive been in this situation too. i use to be just like you with all the hanging out with guys and i played sports alot and everything. it was really hard to just change but that kind of what you have to do. The first step i took was wearing my hair down and acutally straightening it and making it look good instead of throwing it up in a pony tail. And then i got some eye liner and some coverup and started with the basics. go shopping just one day and buy some nice jeans that make you ass look good because that is what every girl wants is nice ass! lol but anyway you dont have to necissarily start out with a skirt. heck i only have two skirts and i only have one pair of shorts. so you can rock the jeans like i do if you want. if you want me to tell you more or if you think i didnt quite give you enough information then just message me, ill be happy to answer any quesion you have. xlovexx463 answered Monday February 18 2008, 4:55 pm: Baby steps. Start with wearing jeans meant for girls. Then, move on to slightly girly shirts. Flirt with guys instead of joking around them.
Keep your friends and keep your personality. All you want is to slightly alter your style. [ xlovexx463's advice column | Ask xlovexx463 A Question ]
orphans answered Monday February 18 2008, 4:52 pm: Subtle changes are your best bet. Try this:
-buy a pair of girl jeans
-a cute "girl" t-shirt
-wear maybe flats [cute shoes without any heels] or converse or something
-maybe do your hair differently, like put it half up or put a headband in or something
-maybe put a clear gloss on your lips [nothing too drastic]
and then progress at your own pace and your own comfort.
Good luckk [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
