Loose screen?

Question Posted Wednesday February 13 2008, 1:27 pm

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop. When I open the screen, it's really loose, it wobbles around a lot.

I've read that the screen hinges get loose from opening the screen all the way and all I have to do is tighten some screws. Problem: I don't know where to locate those screws.

Any help would be appreciated.

Contact Dell customer support.

My laptop screen now doesnt close because one of the screws stripped itself and the right hinge isnt connected anymore. If I move it, it cracks the laptop case.

If this happens to you, its usually covered by warranty. Dell will have more information than that. (My laptop had this fixed once, but its not under warranty anymore)

They're usually under little rubber things near the hinges. If you can't find them, read the manual or contact Dell.

You should contact Dell. Their tech support would be glad to help you with anything you need.
If you purchased your laptop from Dell Company.
If not, you should try contacting any other Computer experts on where you can purchase that special screw driver for those screws.
