yeah you can break your hymen that way. im not really sure about the thick or thin part...but usually when you break your hymen, you will know, because it'll start to bleed. as known as "popping your cherry"

yes you can break your hymen that way. for some its easy to break their hymen it can be done on a bike just riding.. or sometimes you have to have a surgery to get it cut. (thats really rare). its on the outside of your vagina. its pretty much the hole.. if you have not broke yours by fingering yourself then it is probably strechy and will only be broken when you have sex. i hope that answers the question.
