Do IVs hurt? Okay so more than likely I have to get an IV tomarrow for my MRI (i posted a question earlier) and I'm just wondering if they hurt? Like does it hurt more or less than a shot? and does it hurt to take it out? :/
I'm a superrrr bigg babyyy when it comes to needles. I had alot of bloodwork done as a kid because of sickness and being premature. So any tips on how to not be nervous or think about it is greatly appreciated.

Getting it in your arm doesn't hurt hardly at all. Just a pinch and an odd sensation. It hurts a lot when they put it in your hand, though.
They can numb it, but they usually won't unless you ask. They do it with an injection using a small needle or a cream; the injection works better. If they're going to put it in your hand, be sure to ask for the numbing stuff. ]
i completely understand. i hate needles always have && i have to give blood alot && man i get stuck alot becuase they dont ever get it the first time =[ but yes it hurts some. but this is how i look at it. i'll be fine afterwards you kind of have to think of it like that. when they take it out it wont hurt. its just a one two thing type thing once it is in your fine ]
It hurts. But, the easiest thing to do is not think about it. YOu have to do it. That's that. So, just go and turn your head away. It helps to talk to a friend or even a nurse while they're inserting it. I had it twice when giving birth, so I know. I have heard of a cream that they can put on the area to numb it but you have to ask. ]
