Liberal Arts Major

Question Posted Friday February 1 2008, 2:18 pm

I am about to apply to colleges and I want to do a Liberal Arts major, but I am not sure if that is the name of the major? Can I just major in Liberal Arts? If so, what is my degree called if I major in Liberal Arts? I was also considering a dual-major in Liberal Arts and English, is that possible? Thanks so much!

well at my school (tulane) you can't really "major" in liberal arts. I'm a political science major and i'm just considered to be in the school of liberal arts (as opposed to being in the business school or school of architecture) but i guess it depends on where you go

You can do a dual major in english and liberal arts, but you can also study english within your liberal arts degree. Hope I helped!
