Can a very powerful, pounding pulse in your neck be an indication of getting sick? All day it's been rushed, sensitive in the area and you can practically see it pounding out of my neck. My throat is sore, so I was wondering if it is an indication of your body trying to repair something. Random, I know. But I was curious. Thanks
orphans answered Friday February 1 2008, 1:36 pm: its normal, I dont really understand why it happens, but it sometimes happens in my neck, knees, thighs, and arm haha. dont worry about it. if you are really that scared, call up your family doctor :-] but it should be okay.
GoOd LuCk!!!
ps
i think that your throat has nothing to do with it, but have you ever gotten that before? if you have then i would look into it. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
LM answered Friday February 1 2008, 1:16 pm: Well, whenever I'm getting I fever my neck always feels really warm. And if any part of your body is sore (i.e. throat) you'll be more aware of it and you'll feel your pulse. Same thing happens when you hurt your finger, for example. So, I think the only thing it's an indicator of is a sore throat. If it lasts for more than a week or so without improving, I'd get checked for strep throat but for now just wait it out and drink a lot of hot tea.
