hearing

Question Posted Tuesday January 29 2008, 9:35 pm

I Love Love Love music! but i don't want to ruin my hearing when I'm older by always listening to it, I've already reduced the volume from 30 to 20 and I'm getting used to that. I listen to my Ipod on long road trips and on the bus to school. Is there anything else i can do so that i don't need hearing aids when I'm older? Thank You:)

Just to add, when you go out to concerts, use the WAX earplugs. They work the best, and you could get them at any drugstore. In the meantime, as the others mentioned, continue to lower the volume on your Ipod just a tad..that should help.

By the way, if you aren't constantly exposed to super loud noise, then you will be okay. Oh, and usually all old people are hard of hearing to some extent, regardless. To minimize damage to your hearing, just use earplugs when you need to.

when (if) you go to concerts at small venues, ALWAYS wear earplugs. (they sell them at most larger concerts and at home improvement places like home depot)
in a small room, even if it can fit 500 people, or more, the speakers are just as loud in back as they are in front.
that'll really screw up your hearing- the effects are almost immediate.

No i don't think you can do anything else i have the same problem the only time im not listening to my ipod is at school (because i can't). I don't know what you mean by 30 to 20. I keep my volume in the middle and sometimes a little over for some acoustic songs. Good luck
