When are your supposed to first start seeing a gyno? I'm 15 and have had my period since I was 12. I've only been briefly looked in my vaginal area by my pediatrician years ago. I'm somewhat sexually active (I've done oral, mutual masturbation)
I'm wondering when/how I should ask my mom to visit a gynecologist. I'm a worry wart and just want to make sure everything is okay in my life.

If you are planning on being sexually active, you should always practice safe sex and use some form of birth control. Remember that you can get pregnant without actual penetration. Look in the phone book or online for planned parenthood clinics in your area, or talk to your parents about seeing an OBGYN, most parents are very understanding about things like that (I know mine were) Don't be scared to ask. It's better to ask now, than to ask later when it's too late. [ nmggrant's advice column | Ask nmggrant A Question ]
