Question Posted Wednesday January 16 2008, 3:30 pm
ok well, whenever i think back to my childhood, it seems like i see myself, as if i were someone looking in on the situation, and not experiencing it. Like when i remember this one specific point of when i broke my leg -at about 5/6 years old, i had a cast on- i see myself walking in a blue t-shirt towards the door. Or at school when i was young, me sitting on the computer, not myself looking at the computer screen. why is this? is it a psycological thing?
Our memories are not precise recreations, only representations of what we’ve experienced in that past. Our brain fills in the blanks, and obviously, the longer you think back on, the more blanks there are to fill in. So don’t worry about it. You aren’t the only one to see your memories this way, and it isn’t a problem. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]

You can look at memories from another persons point of view. This is something that psychologists spend most of their time trying to figuare out how some people have this special gift while others just remember how they feel or what happened. You ahve the ability to tell what the person was wearing, seeing their expressions, and seeing first hand what you think is happening. It is a wonderful gift especially when you use to remember the moments you cherish the most. You are connected to your subconcious in a way that most people can't achieve. A person like me can only remember the feelings or the main points of what happened. You can remember details. You just connect to your subconcious better than others. Brandi_S answered Wednesday January 16 2008, 3:36 pm: I would imagine it is just the way you remember your past. I could be wrong, but that is my guess on it.
Personally, my memory is how I experienced it, through my own eyes, but that is just how my memory works.
My mom's aunt says she does not dream in color- she dreams in black and white, and always has. Doesn't have anything to do with your memories, but it goes to show how mysterious the brain is.
