Singing competition

Question Posted Tuesday January 15 2008, 9:08 pm

At my school we have this american idol sorta thing. I am having trouble finding a song. I need a really good song, rangeing from the 60's till now in days that would fit my voice. My voice is almost identical to Amy Lee from evanence[sorry for spelling errors] and i can sing Chritina Agularas style well also. I am 16, and would really appreciate your help!!

Check out old R&B stuff by Etta James: Etta is one of Christina Aguilera's musical heroes and provides much of her vocal inspirations.

Also check out Bjork: she's decidedly weird, but her stuff is very challenging vocally (she's one of Amy Lee's heroes as well). You might want to consider "Hyper-ballad" or "Big Time Sensuality" in particular.

"Somebody to Love" by Queen will work for a female voice with a big range; the original vocals fo from a high falsetto to a baritone.

Hope this helps.

natasha bedingfeild would be a great artist for your voice. my favorite songs of her's are unwritten and these words. also, lily allen, if you can find a song of hers that isn't completely inappropriate. good luck!
