Should I Say Yes?
Sorry it's long!
Okay well I'm a 13 f, turning 14 on Valentine's b-day (Yeah I know huh?!?)Well anyway, as you probably know I'm in 8th grade. Well on my bus they have this guy named TJ, he's like two years older then me or something. His sister and younger brothers ride the bus ( Samantha is 17, Johnathan is 14, and Matthew is like...10) I just met everyone this year, as I moved to Rayville from New Orleans..(Big change btw...big city to country)...and TJ has been sweet to me, only now he's protective and told me if any guy messes with me, tell him and he'd "whup their ass" Now to my knowledge he's told a few people that. But he started acting like a brother to me. I knew something was up after i was dropping his sis off at her house and he had his arm around my waist in a half hug and i didn't think much of it until when i moved, he didn't let go.
As it turns out, yesterday he missed school, and today because he's sick, and he gave his sister a note, she gave it to me...it was a poem. Really cute actually.
I freaked. I was like 'OMG TJ LIKES ME?!?!?!?' Then I decided to reason. 'Maybe he just wanted me to read a poem he wrote.' Stupid I know. But today Sam told me he does like me. I don't know what to do. I like him but, and I'm not one to care what people think because it's like 'I like him, I'm happy, screw you.' if they don't like who I date. He'd be my 2nd boyfriend...but i'm erasing my old one from memory lol!
I don't know what to do. People would definatley tease us, especially my friend Mitzi because she'd get all weird even though she has a boyfriend. I just need to know what to do. With TJ and my friends. I like him and he's really sweet but my ex was a total jerk and I'm having problems letting myself give enough trust for another boyfriend. I don't want to 'go out' with him and then hurt him by not giving him the trust he deserves.

first off you should not let the guy you use to talk to mess up what the next guy can give you. females go wrong by doing this. when you do this you could never be happy. i know trust is a big thing in a relationship. without trust what do you have? you should give this guy a chance becuase you never know he can be that special someone for you. who cares what your friends think. real friends would tell you if he makes you happy then go for it. they would not put you down. just follow your heart it has all the answers to your fulfillment

im going through the same thing right now.
i know what you mean. its really hard to trust anyother person but you have to love/trust like you've never been hurt before. Dont let the pain your EX put you through get in the way because then it just slows you down and you might be missing out. You have to live every second of your life like it was your last.
but if you want to make sure that he wont hurt you. you have to tell him that you need to know if you can trust him. ask him this
"if we do get together how do i know your not gonna hurt me"
if he comes up with an answer that seems good to you then give him a chance
