Busty

Question Posted Wednesday January 9 2008, 10:42 am

I'm not really into fashion but whenever I see myself, it's bad! I wear a D cup and whatever I wear.. makes me look pregnant [which strangers commented on] or that I gained 10 pounds. It also makes my shoulders look wider. What can I do to make my boobs look smaller? And what I mean by that is.. what type of outfits can I wear that will flatter my chest? I'm only 16, btw. Around 100 pounds and I'm 5'1. I don't layer my clothing. I usually wear babydoll shirts.

Wow, it sounds like we could be twins. I'm built the same way, and I know exactly what you mean. Having big boobs can make you look fat, even when you're not... unless you wear the right clothes. So here are a few tips:

1) Bra: get a minimizer bra. They're especially made to make your boobs look smaller, and they work wonders. You can usually find them in the nicer department stores. Just ask the lady in the lingerie department.

2) Babydoll shirts: okay, I know they're in style, and they ARE cute... but I'm pretty convinced that they only look good on about 0.003% of the population (that is, people who are pencil thin and have no chest). On everyone else, they look like maternity dresses. And especially when you have a larger chest. Try something that's a little more fitted:

3) Closer-fitting shirts: you might think that a tighter shirt will make your boobs look bigger, but that's not necessarily true. As long as it's not skin tight or very thin material, a closer-fitting shirt that shows off your waist will make you look taller and slimmer.

4) Necklines: Button-down shirts, or shirts that have a V-shaped neckline, will make your boobs look smaller. It sort of "separates" your chest into two smaller halves, instead of one big whole. You can also create that effect by wearing a long necklace, or wearing an open jacket or sweater over a top. Stay away from really high, tight necklines, wide scoop-neck tops or tops that go off your shoulders... those make your boobs look bigger.

5) Move out of the Junior department: unfortunately, clothes designers assume that all teenagers have no boobs, so many of the clothes designed for teens are not very flattering on anyone with more than a B cup. Also, these clothes are usually made with cheaper materials; and the truth is, cheap material (ie; thin and flimsy) can make you look kind of dumpy. Try shopping in the petite section of the nicer department stores, or in shops that are geared more toward young adults rather than teens. You can usually find the same cute styles, but made with a little more substantial material. The higher quality (and yes, more expensive) clothes really do look better on.

Hope this helps some!

Babydoll shirts? Well, there is your problem! Babydolls come out below the chest, and can make the illusion of a rounder tummy, or a pregnant look. The person below me is correct. You need a great, full liftage bra. If you don't have the right undergarments, you can't look great. I suggest getting professionally measured and fitted for the right bra for a great start.

I would never suggest a T-shirt. T-shirts make your chest stick out and look twice as big. I would go with a slight V-neck shirt (deep V-necks can look aging and well... slutty). Don't wear horizontal lines. I know rugbys are really in right now, but they just make your chest look huge. Also try open-collar shirts and wraps.

Example: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) (This stripe is okay since the stripe is not directly over the bust.)

This is just an example; I'm sure you can figure it out from here. I'm not necessarily recommending American Eagle, I just went there first and was too lazy to go to another site.
: )

Have a nice day.

well first of all you NEED a good bra. Go to victoria secret and ask someone who works there which bra would suite your breasts and figure the best. they will help and are ussauly very good. Since you are only 5'1 and sixteen your still growing theres a good chance that you may grow into your breasts.

As for outfits you have the cone shaped body. which just means your smaller on bottom and bigger on the top. If I were you I'd wear shirts thats have a waist tie. That brings the attention down to your waist instead of your boobs. Also wear up and down stripes that camoflauges the boobs. Also I'd suggest that you wear wideleg jeans so that it evens out both the top and bottom. Also wearing your hair down will help disguise it as long as its at least a little over shoulder length.

Will i hope my advice helps
