Will my school counselor tell my parents if I smoke weed and they find out?

If I smoke weed and tell my school counselor .. can they tell my parents?

It certainly wouldn't do any good for them to hear it second hand, and if you need help, they can and will help you.
Sure, they will probably be disappointed, but they will also be proud that you were mature enough, and trust them enough, to bring your problems to them.
theymos answered Tuesday January 8 2008, 5:14 am: Counselors can tell your parents whatever they want. They are not bound to confidentiality like a psychiatrist is. They are also required by law to report something illegal or dangerous.
