I was on birth control like 4 or 5 years ago. i dont remember the side effects and the doctor that put me on them assumed i knew them. my problem is: im having like hot flashes.. randomly. and its not the clothing that i wear. (i wear like .. tshirts in snow) so i dont know if that is a side effect or i should go back to the doctors?

control pills then they are not causing
the hot flashes. It could be caused by
another medication. Either way, check
with your doctor. Always check with your
doctor if your body is doing something
you know isn't right. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]

I started birth control when I was twelve and my side effects was hardcore moodyness. The doctor told me it was because of the horomones in the pills.
I would call the doctor office or look up what causes hot flashes and see what comes up

MAK answered Friday January 4 2008, 5:22 pm: So as I understand it, you stopped the birth control 4/5 years ago? Then I highly doubt that these hot flashes have anything to do with the birth control. I was recently put on birth control, and my doctor never mentioned hot flashes.
I think that it is the clothes you wear. If you wear a tshirt in the snow, your body is trying really hard to keep you warm, and sometimes you'll feel strong sense of heat in certain part of your body.
If this really concerns you, I would call a doctor and check with them. It could be some sort of health issue.
But this question wasn't detailed enough, so I don't really know what you mean by "hot flashes," but you can check out this website [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
