Making movies from mov

Hi, I am new to this so this might be a silly question, but why does my movie maker not allow me to save to a dvd??? Do I need a software download?

No, not a silly question at all. :)

You should be able to save it to DVD by selecting in the task menu Save to DVD. I know if you don't have a DVD writing drive on your computer, the option will be gray, and you can't select it.
Is your computer's DVD drive a DVD Writer, or player (ROM)?
If it is a DVD Writer, then I'm not sure as to why it wouldn't allow you to save your video to DVD. It may be a glitch in the program itself, or some other issue. Those types of problems I don't know how to solve. :(
