Not Sure Older Dog In Heat

Question Posted Sunday December 9 2007, 2:31 pm

We thought our female dog was spayed. She is 10 years old, we've had her 2 years. We caught her and a male dog, he was stuck inside her, doing the deed. Male dog now won't go away. Is it possible she's in heat even though we've never noticed this in 2 years? If so is it dangerous at her age to possibly be pregnant?

If she's spayed there is no way she can get pregnant it's possible it was a young male they are well lets just say mine tried to breed a wheelbarrow.

It is most likely imposible but most male dogs only come around when another dog is in heat or maybe he was just a little you no...... anyway it could be dangerous at 10 years but if she is healthy she can pull through. Oh and there's some stuff you can spray that can keep the other dog away just make sure you don't spray it near your dog it won't heart the dog its just a nuissance to there nose. It will wear of but it should keep HIM away.

I can't tell you for certain if it is dangerous or not at her age, but I would assume it is.
Your best bet would be to take her to a vet to have her checked out. In the meantime, I would do whatever necessary to keep her away from the male dog.
