Icing that hardens recipe?

Question Posted Monday December 3 2007, 5:24 pm

Does anyone have a recipe for icing to put on sugar cookies (I'm using cookie cutters) that will harden so it doesn't lose it's shape? Also, I would like to have multiple colors so if there is no way for me to make different icing colors I can't use it. Thanks.

Sounds like you want fondant icing. You can cut it out in shapes.

You can get it at any store that sells cake decorating supplies. It comes in a box. You just mix it in with whatever food colouring combination(s) you want, and then roll it out and cut it.

The frosting recipe is the second down after the cookie recipe. That should help you pretty well. : )
