it's really cool because you can age your character.
you can really make the character look like you as much as you want.
there's more than just black or white skin, you can have a hispanic person or asian or mixed, or whatever kind of character you want, the expansion packs like university is really cool because you can follow them to college and continue their education, have them pledge for a greek house, choose their major, and if you don't like them going to college, you can move them back home and continue on as an adult. you also get tons of new furniture and clothing/hairstyle choices with the expansion packs like with university you get a vanity which at any point in the game if you buy it you can change what they look like face-wise.
the houses are amazing!
you can have up to 4 floors, you can make decks that the height is about 3/4 of how tall a regular wall is
you can have a foundation for your house and make amazing decks all around your house. you have tons of new paint, brick, and other wall covering choices to make your house however you want. the floors and roofs also have a huge variety as well as furniture, windows, doors, and garden items. you can change the color of your grass along with add a pond to your land. it's really awesome because the family you create grows together. you get a different kind of bonding that you don't get on the older sims games which might be a little more difficult and take a bit longer, but it's also alot of fun! it's crazy how much you can do and i havn't even gotten started on aspirations!
you can choose how they live their life whether its money oriented or family oriented to popularity or knowlege oriented to romance oriented. it's just so cool how you have so many choices and you never run out of things to do on it. i know, i know, i'm rambling on and on about how cool it is but really, there's endless possiblities to what you can do on the sims 2, while on the older sims games, it becomes boring and old.
hope i helped and not just wasted your time! [ gymcutiepie01's advice column | Ask gymcutiepie01 A Question ]

But, it is much better than the regular sims.
You can have babies, and actually feed them and change their diaper. Then they become toddlers.
They age. Sims 1 got old fast because you did the same thing everyday. It makes the game a lot more intersting when they age. They start out as a baby, toddler, kid, teenager, [young adult (if you have University expanison pack)],adult, and then elder. They eventually die when they're elders.
The expansion packs are better. They can go to college, clubs, there's seasons, pets (like the Sims 1, but it's probably better. I don't know, I don't have this one.), and I'm not sure what else, but you can check the website.
Plus, there's aspirations, such as get engaged, married, have a kid, make a friend, get a job, etc. That makes point to the game.
Overrall, it's a pretty entertaining game. But, like I said, it can get boring fast. So, don't over-play it. My cousins are like obsessed with it as well. They're like 10ish. I was too when I first got it. You'll probably like it. [ advicer's advice column | Ask advicer A Question ]

*You have different choices of colors for a type of furinture.
*Can have babys, toddlers, kids, teens, adults and elders. They all grow up aswell..like teens into adults.
* Up to 4 floor houses
* LOADS of new objects
*Very good person creator. Such as you can change their face shape, eye colour, make up and so on.
*Many new clothes and hairstyles
*They are quite life like compared to normal sims.
If they eat too much they will get unfit and then fat. If they work out or swim, they will be fit, and gain six-packs.
When you learn how to cook, you can choose different foods you want to make for dinner, breakfast and lunch.
Teens can have jobs as well as adults.
You can get promoted.
Aliens and Ghosts exist :D
You can choose their personality and Aspirations.
When you get aspiration points, you can get some really cool stuff.
Many different options when talking to other sims and so on.
Teens can sneak out, and sometimes get brought home by the police if they get caught.
Teens can also ''go out'' with someone(boyfriends/girlfriend) they need permission from an adult who they are good friends with.
The kids and teens have homework. If they don't do it, they fail school.
If they are failing school, they get fired from their teen jobs.
The teens can also develop zits..which you need to apply cream on.
You can throw parties.
Also move out with a particular person.
When making an family, if you have the ''dad'' and the ''mom'' then you can make a new child which has the adults' genes.(So it'll look like the parents)
*There are many stuff and expansion packs, which will make the game funner!
*Many more things you can do,. Can't list them all :)
I don't suggest this game if you have an older/slow computer. This game is big, and will be very slow if your computer is slow or old aswell.
alex_ABC_123 answered Wednesday November 28 2007, 9:07 am: Well, on the sims 2 you can create a baby, and it will eventually grow up. And, you can create almost any age of person on there. There are waayyy better graphics, and have some new stuff added to the inventory. It's just wayy better. I bought it a couple of monhts ago, and have had soo much fun on it. However, it does make your computer go a little bit slower, because of all the space it takes up.Hope i helped. Don't forget to rate!
